I just saw The Dark Knight - the new Batman movie. It was better than the first Christopher Nolan movie (Batman Begins) which is high praise coming from me. Heath Ledger's performance is better than the hype. Whenever he is on screen, you don't watch anyone else. And I recognized him immediately just from his stance - he becomes the Joker. Everyone else in the movie is good but secondary to him. Such a tragedy.
You know how, if you're really invested in the movie, you come out and it's kind of hard to come back to reality? I was parked at the top of an incline and I had to really hold myself back from driving my Batmobile down the incline.
I've heard critics say the movie is too dark. Anyone expecting Batman to be light and fluffy should - well first, should come out from under their rock and second, find another movie. We grew up reading the original Batman comics (long after they were originally produced, thank you very much) and they were DARK! That Joker can still give me nightmares. This movie lives up to those comics.

i just watchd batman begins the other night (I had thought it was part of the last series that got so terrible, so paid it no mind when it first came out) and thought it quite good, and am looking forward to the dark night. i was staying with a friend (in Philly!) when it opened and her husband came back opening night RAVING about it.
I'm wanting to see this! We were hoping to go see this together (me and the Sergeant) but we're not going to make it before he leaves. *sigh* I'll either see it on my own or wait for dvd. Neither option makes me super happy..
