GARDENING UPDATE

This is the garden patch we dug a few weeks ago that we jokingly refer to as the grave. Unfortunate shape, but our resolve gave up after 3 hours.

We have waited patiently and, Mother Nature, in her infinite goodness, has decided to reward us.
Let me give you a close up shot -

they're starting to come up. These are the gladioli that we planted - maybe 6 or 7 are starting to pop their heads through the dirt. I can't wait to see what it looks like when they are all blooming:) Helen will be out there singing to them, maybe dancing - there's even a chance of poetry ala Toad from Frog & Toad are Friends by Arnold Lobel.

You can't see it but the grass is cut beautifully. Helen cut it this week, partially in the pouring rain, and what does she get to show for all this hard work? She is SO SICK! Snuffly, coughy, exhausted, and achy. Luckily, she has her own personal Florence Nightingale to look out for her.
